so in something of a conclusion to the recent baidu/w-inds.hk drama...

i emailed the person who made the post in baidu to let them know the scans they had posted were mine. as i guessed, they didn't know and were rather unhappy at what had happened. he (yes, he, i really should stop making assumptions) had a friend who speaks a little better english contact me on messenger and she gave me some more information. the thief had made several scans posts on w-inds.hk, the majority of which, it seems, were originally my scans. even though i couldn't actually view all the posts, she linked me to a list of ones made by that person that included a ton of digipri and a handful of magazines. they (or one of the w-inds.hk mods) called the thief out, who said at first that they were her scans, then that i said that my logo could be removed. haha. no. i checked back a little later and found that nearly every post the thief had made in w-inds.hk had been deleted.

i'm a little vague on some of the details, but it seems the thief made a pretty insincere-sounding apology. i've run across a fair amount of references to the whole incident on baidu, all of which give me a warm fuzzy feeling. and after i clarified my sharing policy, his friend said she'd make sure the fans at both places knew about it. to help clear up matters, i'll be putting up said policy on the main site in english, japanese, chinese, and thai (thank you teej, twiggy, and yume-chan) to make sure it won't be 'confused' again.

so even though they probably won't see this, thank you to w-inds.旋风 and himi for being more helpful and understanding about the whole thing that i ever could have hoped. a lot of people really wouldn't have gone through that much effort to try to resolve something like that, especially through a language barrier. you are awesome. ♥

and also, thanks to y'all who have listened to me babble repeatedly about this. you may now return to your regularly scheduled fangirling. now with 90% less drama!

aaaand, the baidu drama continues. -_-;

before i start, i'd like to point out that i really don't have any problems with people posting my scans anywhere. i've had a few of the fans from there ask me about it, so this is not directed at them. by all means, spread the w-inds. love. :D this is directly only at the dishonest fsckers that are too lazy and cheap to do their own scans and take credit for others' work.

i was going through random albums and came across this one.

every. single. image. one of my scans with the watermark removed. it's especially obvious on ones like these where my watermark is on something other than a solid background.

i'm not entirely sure what to do about it. the person that uploaded them has uploaded pictues in multiple albums. the others, for the most part, are scans from other people. my first photobook scans are there, but the watermark is intact on all of those, so i have no way to tell if the uploader is the one that took the watermark off and i really don't want to go around making baseless accusations. for all i know, they're just a fan that's gone around and saved pictures, like most of us all have at one time or another.

kept looking around and found the actual post. looks like someone at w-inds.hk said they did them. but the person that posted the pictures is one of the fans who asked me about my scans, so i doubt they even know. *emails*

when stealing my scans, it helps to take my watermark off everything.

you missed one, bitch.

it's not claiming the cd and magazine scans that ticks me off the most. it's the thanks pamphlet pics, like this one, that took literally two weeks to scan and piece together. -_-

after looking further into her previous posts, i am even more confused. a long while ago she posted my kera, kera boys, and vacanza scans. with credit. and leaving my watermarks intact. even though on the vacanza post she says not to repost and is bitching about other people reposting 'her' stuff. (yay for google translator) wtf gives?

it's probably a good thing i can't read chinese.

because if whoever posted these is actually claiming them as their own they would get an earful.

every. single. decent sized. shop photo. the kera pics. the izayoi no tsuki digipri. the newsmaker digipri.

are all my scans with the effing watermark cropped or edited out.

christ, it's more of a pain to remove it than to just leave it. the audacity of some people. i don't really ask for credit, just that the watermark not be removed. is that really too much to ask? gah. :/
